First and foremost, I would like to thank you, your staff, and your members for being a part of our global community. The past 18 months have been an amazing phase of growth for Triib – none of which would be possible without you. While we’re halfway into the year, I believe it’s important to share a brief snippet of 2018 in review and then update you on all we have in store for you for the second half of 2019!

2018

2018 was an incredible year for the Triib community. For starters, we grew over 50% – this means we’re helping more business owners than ever before. It also means we’re listening to more business owners, using your candid feedback to fuel our mission of making your lives easier. As a company, we tripled our full-time staff, expanding our capabilities in customer success, engineering, and onboarding education – focusing on solving for your needs, listening to your feedback, and helping deliver as much value as possible! We have much further to go but, so far, we’re delivering on our mission. On average, a gym joining Triib in the beginning of 2018 grew revenues over 125% in their first 12 months! This is what drives us.

2019

This year is all about continuing that momentum. We’re getting key product innovations across the line based on the amazing feedback from partners like you. For example, we’ve just relaunched an overhaul of the Triib Kiosk with a new look and feel as well as expanded capabilities. We’ve also made major improvements for easier income reporting and deposit tracking.

We have now turned our efforts towards many new platform upgrades along with two major initiatives coming in 2019:

1. Overhauling the appointment booking capabilities in Triib (self-service scheduling, seamless 1-on-1 appointments & personal training, individual availability)
2. Launching a completely new mobile app experience for you and your members

Why Did We Decide to Create The Tribe Method Podcast?

1. We’re always on the hunt for new ways to provide busy gym owners with highly valuable content that they can consume on-the-go.
2. We saw the need for an outlet that brings real stories from successful coaches and fitness industry leaders out into the open.
3. We wanted to create a community to celebrate fitness business owners’ successes and experiences to inspire others to achieve greatness in their profession.

The first episode of Tribe Method #1: The Coach/Athlete Relationship: Personalized, Remote and Owning It features Chris Hinshaw, world-renowned endurance coach and founder of aerobiccapacity.com, and Paul Tremblay, co-owner of CrossFit NCR. These guys shared with us an inside look into how their businesses have expanded and adapted, as well as their experiences with remote programming and encouraging athlete ownership.

At Triib we’re focused on making the gym owner’s day-to-day easier and optimizing business operations. We heard your feedback and we made sure the new and improved technology behind our Kiosk relaunch lives up to this standard. Checking-in is the first interaction your current members and new visitors will have when they enter the gym. We want to help you make an impression!

What’s awesome about the new Triib Kiosk?

For starters, we heard some gym owners are operating our software on older devices. We’ve reworked the code to allow the Triib Kiosk to display correctly on a variety of devices, even some older models. In order to have the best experience with Triib please review our compatibility requirements.

Additionally, it’s highly recommended to use the Triib Kiosk in an incognito browser window. This will prevent auto-populating of data in form fields, as well as contribute to protection with the addition of two new security features:

1. Auto-logout when toggling prevents members from accessing sensitive information.
2. The new required Kiosk pin for extra security.

What’s more, the Triib Kiosk can be your base of business operations on the gym floor. Our Kiosk handles class check-in, membership or attendance pack sign-ups, visitor drop-ins, store purchases, waiver signatures and more. Furthermore, all of these actions can be accomplished individually, or all at once for a seamless check-out experience for your customers.

You’ll also notice the refreshed, modern look of the main screen. We’ve improved the design to complement the new functionality for improved user experience. Additionally, the options on the check-in screen are now dynamic. If you don’t want the option for people to be able to drop-in or shop, for example, you are able to remove these options inside your admin account. Because you’re not a one-size-fits-all business!

Ask and you shall receive Triibers–there’s even more newness to behold! Additional new functionalities include:

• Dynamic form fields. Triib Kiosk Forms allow you to choose what options best fit your gym and your member’s needs.
• Kiosk settings page in the admin section. We’ve consolidated the Kiosk settings into their own tab, making it much easier to locate and get the kiosk set up for your gym.
• Admin ability to override prices on all store products and packages.
• Admin ability to restrict staff members from performing overrides.
• Admin ability to override class check-ins.
• Quick waiver button. Ever need to pull up a waiver quickly? Now you can simply click the new “Quick Waiver” button on the home page to easily make an account, sign a waiver and move on to class ASAP.
• Dynamic Kiosk background image. Choose from pre-selected options, or turn off the image.

How will the new Kiosk benefit me as a gym owner?

In short, the new, user-friendly Triib Kiosk will streamline check-in and check-out processes at your gym, saving time and money while also providing your members with a positive experience. The process is quick and intuitive, preventing front desk traffic jams and letting your coaches stick to coaching. Similarly, the check-out experience is user-friendly offering easy navigation for your members that requires little to no assistance from your staff.

We are happy to announce the release of the WOD On The Waves (WOW) Mobile App–Powered by Triib. We created this app for the Ultimate Fitness Cruise which is setting sail for the Bahamas on January 21st, 2019. It is available now on the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.

Why we made the app

Triib was approached by the organizers of the WOD on the Waves Cruise to gauge the possibilities of utilizing the Triib management platform and mobile applications (iOS and Android) to help manage the WOW on-ship fitness classes and facilitate on-demand announcements to the cruise attendees.

We made it our mission to create a mobile app experience for the WOW Cruise Attendees which will dually serve as a kick-starter to our next generation of the Triib mobile app! Though this is a completely different application than our mobile app, the code will serve as a foundation for our Triib mobile app update, which is firmly slated for 2019 release. The process has allowed us to validate the approach and focus on improved user experience for the Triib mobile app update.

The WOD On The Waves app

The WOD on the Waves app is an event-specific app built for handling scheduling, agenda and push messaging to allow members of the event to easily sign up for classes and activities during the cruise. The schedule includes 100+ classes (& parties) led by top trainers, athletes, and coaches. Users can easily RSVP to their favorite classes, set which events and parties they will attend, plus view the full WOD all from their mobile device.

Innovative features on WOD On The Waves mobile app include:

• Real-Time notifications of pop-up activities, schedule updates and location changes
• Full event schedule view with the RSVP ability built directly into it
• Your own personal agenda schedule to see what you’re signed up for
• An updated class view letting you know what coaches will be leading the workout

What’s awesome about the new kiosk?

We’ve given a kick-ass facelift (hello beautiful!) to our kiosk as well as new functionality for an improved user experience. We went Live on Facebook to show off the updates to the check-in and check-out processes and answer questions (see video in the Facebook group) Here are a few of the new features we’re ready to show off:

For starters, members will now be able to purchase multiple retail items and add them all to one cart.

Additionally, multiple drop-ins can also now be added to cart together for one purchase. The new interface also features the coach’s name and avatar next to classes for members who have a favorite coach, or for anyone who would like to choose a class based on what the coach looks like (disclaimer: at this time there is no proven correlation between coaching ability and physical appearance).

Perhaps most exciting about the new check-out cart is the fact that all three purchases: retail items, drop-ins, and memberships can all be added to the same cart for one seamless transaction.

How will the new kiosk benefit me as a gym owner?

This new, user-friendly ability to add multiple items to cart will streamline check-out processes at your gym, saving time and providing your members with a positive user experience. The process is quick and intuitive, preventing your front desk area from getting bogged up with traffic and encouraging members to shop. You may find yourself needing to place a reorder sooner than you think for those sweet new t-shirts you’re selling.
